30% Shade Cloth
2m x 50m roll of 30% shade cloth provides a lightweight screening solution for temporary fencing, construction sites, civil works and events where some visual screening is required while maintaining a relatively high level of airflow.
With approximately 30% blockout and around 70% openness, it creates substantially less wind resistance than heavier 70% or 90% screening products. This makes it well suited to temporary fencing applications where reduced visibility and light dust control are required without creating the same wind-loading effects as dense shade cloth or solid screening.

Temporary Fence Bracing
Attaching shade cloth to temporary fencing increases the effective wind area of the fence and therefore increases overturning loads.
Tower Temporary Fencing’s practical Temporary Fence Scrim, Signage and Wind Loading Guide recommends that temporary fencing fitted with approximately 30% blockout shade cloth is braced at least every third panel, using suitable temporary fence braces, feet, clamps and ballast.
Recommended practical arrangement for 30% shade cloth:
- Brace at least every 3rd temporary fence panel
- Ensure all panels are correctly connected with suitable clamps
- Use suitable temporary fence feet and ballast
- Provide additional support at ends, corners and gates
- Increase bracing on exposed, coastal, elevated or public-facing sites
- Inspect the fencing, ties, clamps, feet and braces following strong winds, impacts or ground movement
